Destiny 2 Strategy Guide Review

November 3, 2017 By Blake Grundman Leave a Comment

Just when you thought the grind was too much, Bungie decided to go and release Destiny 2. This means that I am once again hopelessly addicted, and looking for any way possible to get my guardian fix. I am beginning to think that I have a serious problem…

Thankfully there is a brand new guide from the folks over at Prima Games, looking to help veterans and kinder-guardians alike. However, once you crack the cover, it might feel a bit lighter in content than you might expect. Find out why in my Destiny 2 strategy guide review below!

SGR Rating: 3/5

Halo Wars 2 Strategy Guide Review

April 19, 2017 By Blake Grundman Leave a Comment

Oh, Halo Wars… how I love thee. Sure, many genre purists scoffed because it was a console RTS set in the Halo universe; but those jerks are dead wrong. The original was a well constructed RTS from the folks at Ensemble Studio that didn’t get near enough credit for all that it did well. It was easily the best strategy game of the console generation. It also didn’t hurt that the game fleshed out the extended universe of Halo by leaps and bounds.

So when Halo Wars 2 made the jump to cross-platform, supporting cross-buy on both PC AND Xbox One, you can bet that Microsoft instantly had my attention. The next installment more than lived up to the promise of the original. Even crazier yet, it is damn near overshadowed by its fantastic strategy guide!

Curious how that is possible? Check out my video review below to find out!

Titanfall 2 Strategy Guide Review

February 3, 2017 By Blake Grundman Leave a Comment

Welcome to another installment of Better Late Than Never Theater, hosted by me, the master of procrastination!

It is time to party like it is Fall 2016. Never mind the fact that we are two months into 2017… “Let’s do the timewarp, again!” *Cue the corny Saved By the Bell flashback transition*

Boy is Titanfall 2 great! The series has finally gone multiplatform and getting solid reviews from fans and critics alike. With that in mind, it only seems fitting to examine if Prima Games’ accompanying strategy guide covers the newly introduced single player campaign as well as the guide for the original installment covered multiplayer. Spoiler Alert: It does a pretty damn solid job on both fronts. Once again, the multiplayer is the star of the show and the guide knocks it out of the park. But don’t just take my word for it, let me tell you about it more in our video review…

Mafia 3 strategy guide reviewWith all the great new games coming out this time of year, it is hard to stay on top of everything. Thankfully the Prima Games Mafia III strategy guide is here to help fast-track the process. Powering through games is not an easy task, but this guide did a fine job minimizing my frustrations. Plus, with an open world map is this large, I needed all the help I could get!

Even aspiring mobsters need a little assistance from time-to-time. Don’t believe me? Find out why in our full review, below.

Uncharted 4 Strategy Guide Review

September 30, 2016 By Blake Grundman Leave a Comment

Uncharted 4 strategy guide reviewRemember way back in May when Uncharted 4 finally hit the PlayStation 4? Well we figured it was about time that we give the Prima Games Uncharted 4 strategy guide a little love. In the name of trying something a little different, I decided to give this review a go using ONLY the digital edition.

After spending so long focusing on the print edition of guides (which is my obvious preference) it was interesting to see some of the unique elements that give the digital editions a leg up on their parchment-chained counterparts. This was an interesting exercise that I think would be worth exploring at a later date, so stay tuned to see what else is in store down the road.

Now back to the actual guide… The Uncharted 4 strategy guide may be one of the most thorough single-player campaign walkthroughs I have ever seen in an action game. The level of detail they went to was fantastic. However, the online multiplayer portion left quite a bit to be desired. But I don’t want to spoil everything here in text. So if you would like to find out more, you should probably check out my full video review, below.
