Free Guide Friday Smorgasbord from Prima Games

I tweeted about this contest earlier, but since I have so many strategy guides to give away, I think I need a more detailed explanation of this week’s Free Guide Friday in one place and not across three tweets.

Here’s the dealio…

The good people at Prima Games sent me literally 20 pounds of strategy guides the week of Thanksgiving. I’m reviewing a few, another writer is reviewing a few, and the extras are going out to all of you good people. The following strategy guides are up for grabs this illustrious Free Guide Friday:

All strategy guides available for this contest are the regular, paperback guides.

How you enter is simple. It’s a Twitter-only contest, so if you aren’t already a member of Twitter, then it won’t seem as simple, sorry. All you have to do is tweet the following before noon on Friday, November 30th:

“I want to win a [insert strategy guide of choice here] for #FreeGuideFriday from @primagames and @strategyreviews!”

So far I’ve already been asked for the Halo 4 CE guide, and um, not only is that not one of the choices, please understand that I am NEVER parting with that thing of beauty.

All incorrect tweets will be discarded. You must include the hashtag and BOTH mentions to myself and Prima games, since without them, this contest wouldn’t even be possible.

I should probably also mention that you need to be following @strategyreviews as well on Twitter, because how else will I be able to ask you for your contact info?

Winners will be randomly selected on Friday, November 30th around noon. Good luck!

Death Rocks Free Guide Friday

I honestly cannot recommend that you get into Darksiders II enough, even if you were as meh about the first game as I was. Prima Games agrees with my sentiment so much, they’ve sent me an extra Darksiders II strategy guide to give away. Included with the strategy guide is a code for an exclusive weapon, Fletcher’s Crow Hammer. Normally you’d have to buy the strategy guide to get this code, but Prima Games loves all of you just that much to let you have this code along with a free guide.

Oh and I also have to point out that a guide will be needed a bit more with this game than the first just for one word and one word alone: sidequesting. Have I sold you into entering yet? Then let’s get into the nitty gritty!

Free Guide Friday This Week (Procrastination Officially Over)

Well my excuse for not working on the strategy guide for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distanceended yesterday after UPS dropped off a little package. This wasn’t from BradyGames, but from strategy guide writer extraordinaire, Dan Birlew. Since Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite franchises, I asked Dan for an autographed copy for my birthday. It turns out that he wanted to give you all a present for my birthday too, as he included another autographed copy. So of course, this means there will be a Free Guide Friday this week!

Free Guide Friday – Dragon’s Dogma and Max Payne 3

I can’t think of a better way to kick off a 3-day weekend than with a strategy guide giveaway. But before I get into how to enter to win a copy of the strategy guides for Max Payne or Dragon’s Dogma, you’re going to have to listen to my plea for donations to keep these giveaways going. I have 2 dreams for SGR right now: 1) it becomes a self-sustainable blog (meaning I make enough from ads to pay for the site AND pay for shipping for guides); and 2) I can keep giving away strategy guides. I absolutely love sharing my undying love for strategy guides, and giving guides away has been one of the most fun aspects of running this site. It’s because of all of you readers that publishers find me worthy enough to give their stuff away. That said, the only way I can keep these giveaways going right now is through help with donations, as shipping these things is not cheap. I would love to make enough in ad revenue to avoid donations all together, but I’m not at that point just yet. The link for donations is to the right. Thanks for listening.

And now how to enter. I’m going to run both contests at the same time because it is the Friday before the US Memorial Day weekend, and I’m fucking lazy. Free Guide Friday – Prototype 2

Who’s up for kicking off the weekend right? What better way to do so than with a guide that will help you kill lots and lots of things in a game? I can’t think of a better way to spend my weekend, personally. BradyGames and I want to help you do just that with a free strategy guide for Prototype 2.

How? It’s simple.

Since today is Star Wars Day, leave your absolute favorite GENUINE Star Wars quote below. Quotes from The Clone Wars animation series and movie will not count, I don’t care that George Lucas is behind those as well.
